The NL is the result of having an original 1929  13-fret Gibson Nick Lucas in the shop for repairs. It had a unique voice for so small a box. I wanted to recreate this sound. The 4 1/2 inch deep body adds to the bass response while the small footprint of the top makes for a snappy treble response. A very well balanced sound.

Some of the unusual features of the NL are the 13-fret to the body neck joint and the small 3 5/8 inch sound-hole. Gibson offered a 12, a 13 and a 14 fret version of the original Nick Lucas models, (nobody seems to know why) but the 13 fret version is the most rare. I like the bridge placement resulting from the 13-fret neck... Dark sunburst is standard as are the other vintage appointments shown here. Scale is unusual at 24.9 inches. Other scale lengths available upon request.
